Abbey falls depend on the rains. So the monsoon is the best time to watch it in full glory. The months from July to October is ideal, although it makes the ground slippery.

– It is advisable to carry water and food as it is not available on the roads leading up to it.
-Wear closed shoes with good grip as there are leeches on the wet terrain.
History of Abbey Falls
The government of India undertook the land after the departure of the British, although it was not properly developed back then. Neravanda B. Nanaiah purchased the land from the Government and planted trees all around the place. The forests cleared up afterwards exposing the natural beauty of the place.
How to reach Abbey Falls
Located around 8-10 km from Madikeri, you can hire autos from there. Mysore and Mangalore are around 150 kilometres away. You can take a cab from the agency you are travelling with or ask them to hire one for you to reach the entry point to the falls.
Washroom and parking spaces are available. Parking costs around 30 INR.
