As per the lore, Mata Vaishnodevi took abode in
the the Ardh Kuwari cave for 9 months before heading to the main Bhavan. In the
modern day, pilgrims have been using this cave as a stopover before continuing
their journey upwards to the Bhavan.
Kids seem to love the adventure that this cave
is. Pilgrims are required to crawl on their knees to cross the cave. The other
side is home to a shrine dedicated to the three Goddesses – Kali, Laxmi and
Saraswati. After your darshans, you exit from the other side due to the
semicircular route. The exit is at a small distance from the entrance.
