Balmuri Falls, Srirangapatna: Overview
Balmuri falls is a man-made waterfall situated in Srirangapatna town of Karnataka. It is a check dam built over the Kaveri River that ensures the water to descent from a height of 6 feet over the River Kaveri. Balmuri is a Kannada word that means to ‘curve right’, which in turn relates to the right turn the river takes at this place in Srirangapatna.
The place around this check dam provides a pleasurable sight. The shores are packed with beautiful green coconut palms and the water gushing out of the fall sparkles as the sun rays hit the check dam.
