Brahma Kund, Alibag Overview
Brahma Kund is situated at a distance of about 20 km from the main city of Alibaug. It is a water reservoir which was constructed in 1612 and is positioned on a hilltop. Adjacent to this structure, there is another kund named Shiv Pool. It is a spectacular rectangular shaped water reservoir surrounded by steps on all four sides.
This kund has religious importance as it is believed that the water in the kund was collected when Lord Krishna was bathed by Lord Brahma in ancient times. The walls were built around the water that was collected and hence, now has immense religious importance among the devotees. Other tourist attractions near to the kund are Mirchi Baba Temple and Maruti Temple.
