Activities at Cauvery Fishing Camp
The Cauvery Fishing Camp offers lots of recreational and adventurous activities such as sightseeing, nature walks, fishing, rafting, trekking, swimming, photography and many more. You can enjoy the sunset sitting beside your loved one with your legs dipped in water. The nature is the best place to experience such romantic ambience. You can go for a 6 hours long trek aroundthe Basavana Betta and will return with thousands of pictures and unforgettable memories. However, if you think that a 6 hours trek would be too much, then you can opt for other short duration treks.
Accommodation and Food
For the comfort and convenience of tourists who are here for a weekend trip or night stay, there isthe facility of accommodation and food. There are eight ethnic log huts in the vicinity of the Camp whereas, for people who want to experience their stay on the riverbank, there is the facility of ten tented cottages with attached bathrooms. You can go for other accommodation as well if there are no cottages or huts left to be booked. You can dine at the Ghol-ghar, a dining area for the guests. Enjoy the salubrious food both in vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. For recreation, you can go out of your cottage and have some relaxing time in those hammocks, a high Machaan, and a tumbling net.
Tariff and Occupancy
As mentioned above, there are all kinds of arrangements for the tourists who are here for one day or for a long holiday. You can either go for a mud hut or cottage or tented cottage or last but not least, bamboo hut. The tariff of these accommodations can vary starting from INR 7,800 up to INR 10,300 for single bed whereas, for double occupancy, it can be in the range of INR 6,100 and INR 8,000. This price is not only for cottage charge, but it includes meals, taxes, entry fees, coracle rides and other activities and itinerary. They also offer river rafting, but you need to pay extra for this activity. There is a 50% discount on fees if you have children between the age group of 5 to 12 or else children below 5 years are not required any fees.

Fauna and Avifauna at Cauvery Fishing Camp
The Cauvery Fishing camp is tucked in the cradle of dense forest with its lifeline being the mighty Cauvery which has turned this area into the abode for many birds, fish and animals species. While you are out or trekking, you might have a chance to come across some animalslike elephants, Sambar deer, Jackal, Spotted deer, Snakes, Leopards and many more.
If you are an ornithologist or love to birding, then this is the perfect place that houses over 200 bird species. Not only you can see the local birds but some migratory birds inwinter.Grey-headed fish eagle, Jacobin Cuckoo, and darter are to name a few.
Angling at Cauvery Fishing Camp
You might have guessed it from the name that it might be the best place for angling and that’s true indeed! You can come across the rare kind of fish species called Mahseer(Combination of two words: Mahi=fish, Seer=Lion) which would be a truly fascinatingexperience. However, you can’t catch them as it is declared illegal, but you can witness them roaming in the clean and clear water. The best time for angling is betweenNovember to February. You will be accompanied by a local guide or in the local language, “Gillie”. They are quite experienced, and angling is their forte. Due to their knowledge of the terrain, they know which place is suitable to experience the best angling activity.They will guide you and let you have the fun and pleasure of angling.

At 01:30 PM: Lunch at camp and relax (You can go for a long walk along the riverbank or spend time on the riverbank)
At 04:00 PM: Evening Tea and Coffee at camp
At 04:30 PM: Coracle Ride
At 05:30 PM: Burma Loop and Parallel Walk
At 07:30 PM: Campfire and Barbeque at the camp
At 08:30 PM: Dinner at camp
At 06:00 A.M: Wakeup call and morning tea/coffee
At 06:30 A.M: Guided trek and nature walk into the forest. You will be informed by the guide each and every detail you need to know before you set your foot in the forest. A morning walk under the canopy of nature would be truly refreshing.

Best Time to Visit Cauvery Fishing Camp
There is no restriction for visiting this place throughout the year. However, the best time to experience the beauty of nature and other activities is from September to February due to the pleasant weather.
Tips for Visiting Cauvery Fishing Camp
Pack all the necessary items you will need during your stay. Bring nature-friendly clothes and shoes instead of high heels and formal shoes.
Trekking shoes are a must if you want to experience trekking or any kind of activities in the forest.
How to Reach Cauvery Fishing Camp
The Cauvery Fishing Camps is located at a distance of 100 km from the IT city of Bengaluru. You can ride to this place via the Bengaluru – Kanakapura route; left to the Sathnur and Muthathi road. Once you reached Muthathi, the Camp is about 5 km from there.
Bheemeshwari can’t be reached by train, but the nearest railway station is Bengaluru City Central Railway Station from where you can hire a taxi or book a car from any online e-cab service.
The nearest highway located to the Camp is Kanakpura-Kollegal Highway, and you can find the way to the camp by taking a turn at Halagur and heading towards the Halagur-Muttatti road.
