Chaurasi Khambon ki Chattri, Bundi Overview
For all the enthusiasts of historical sites and monuments, Chaurasi Khambon ki Chattri in Bundi will be the most interesting place to visit. It’s a canopy-like structure built on 84 pillars and it was constructed by Rao Anirudh Singh in the year 1683 to pay tribute and honorarium to the services of Deva, who was a nurse.
The majestic structure is fixed on an elevated platform which is treated both as a memorial and a place of worship. The second storey of the tower comprises a large dome-shaped roof surrounded by four domes. At the base, you will find carvings of animals, and the pillars have brilliant pictures representing the Rajputana lifestyle of the 17th century.
