Chidiya Tapu is one of the popular places to see when visiting Andaman Islands. It is a beautiful little island that is known for its scenic views, amazing sun rise and sunset views, and a stunning population of resident birds. Also referred to as the Sparrow Island, this lovely island is located at a distance of approximately 25 kms from the capital city, Port Blair. The place is rich with equatorial forests and verdant mangroves. Besides spotting some of the most exotic bird species, visitors can also indulge in some fun-filled activities like scuba diving, snorkeling, pearl hunting, deep sea walking, and boating. The island has a sunset point which attracts a lot of visitors as it gives a truly remarkable experience watching the sun setting at the horizon. It is not allowed to venture into the waters as it is infested by crocodiles.
