As per the various legends, it is widely believed that the fishing nets from China were a gift to India coming from the famous Chinese king Kublai Khan. The nets also bear witness to the Chinese entry into the regions of Kerala long ago. The fishermen use these conventional nets even today. Apart from China, Kerala is the only area where these nets are used.
