A treat to wildlife lovers, it is located 3.4 km away from the main city and hosts a variety of flora and fauna. Shiroli peak is a renowned trekking place which is also the top most point in the area and offers a wonderful view of the Sahyadri Range.
Flora
The forest of Dandeli is regarded as an evergreen forest which includes herbs, creepers, shrubs and several other varieties of plants. Plants like the Bamboo, Jamun, Mango, Teak, Ficus etc are the majority in the forest. The fauna get their nourishment from fruit bearing trees and trees like the Kydia Calycina act as a medicine for cramps and muscle pain.

inhabit the place along with rare exotic animals. Spotted Deers, Leopards,
Civet, Jackalls , Giant Flying Squirrels,
Black Leopards, Sloth Bears , the Indian Pangolins etc are some of the
species often found there in abundance.

Itinerary
Day 1 – It is preferable to reach Dandeli by noon and take a quiet walk
in the town where you can find beautifully crafted craft items made from
bamboo.
Day 2 – The whole day is to be dedicated to visiting the Dandeli
Wildlife Sanctuary.
Day 3 – The last day is to be reserved for visiting the Kerala
Caves. You can have your share of adventure at the Kali river later on that
day.
