Nashik Overview
Another one of the many hill forts in the state of Maharashtra, the Dhodap fort is situated in the Nashik district, at a height of almost 4700 feet from the ground level. Within the fort, there is a Jagdamba temple and a Hanuman idol situated at the top of a tank inside the fort itself.
On the top of the fort, there are many caves and one particular cave is considered to be spacious. In addition to the caves, there are tanks of water and cisterns at the top of the fort. At the entrance of the fort, there are Persian inscriptions shaped like a tunnel. Within the fortification, there are some human settlements that can be found. A distinct quality is imparted to the fort by the rock wall which is natural in nature and situated at the top of the fort. The peaks of the mountains Vani and Saptashringi are visible from the top of the fort.
