Essel World, Mumbai Overview

It is one of the most famous amusement parks in India and along with the Water Kingdom, they constitute the biggest recreational park in entire Asia. Both the amusements parks together occupy an area of about 64 acres and are visited by tourists from different parts of the world.

Amusement Rides
As per the age and height, you can opt for several adventurous rides at Essel World. Majority of the rides are suitable for all age groups, including children, teenagers, adults and elderly. For all the adventure lovers, partake in the various amusements rides to increase the adrenaline level in your body. There are around 11 adventurous rides for adults at Essel World, 14 rides are suitable for families and 15 rides are apt for children.
Horror Ride
Horror Ride at Essel World is one of the most daunting and scariest rides in India. The ride is called “Monster in the Mist” and is best-suited ride for those who crave for a thrilling experience. The ride lasts for around 5 minutes, but those five minutes will give you goosebumps, with scary images popping out of nowhere just like in scary movies. The setting of the ride is absolutely haunting as it passes through the gloomy, misty and dark passage. In addition to the scary set up, excellent audio and animation add to the horror experience. This ride is not suggested for those who are weak at heart.
Water Rides
In order to enjoy the water rides, you need to head to the Water Kingdom which lies adjacent to Essel World. Here, there are a variety of interesting water sports you can take part in, including water rides, wave pools, water slides, swimming pool, aqua play pool and many more.
Water rides have several themes such as the Serpent Safari and the Elephant Safari. The wave-pool is the largest in the country and comprises of crystal clear blue water, the recent wave technology and is surrounded by lush greenery. The pool is spread over an area of about 30,000 sq. feet and is a perfect place to unwind amidst the cool water and peaceful surrounding.
Water Kingdom
Situated next to Essel World, the Water Kingdom is the largest water park in the country and is known for its adventurous wider rides. It hosts various water sport activities and comprises the largest wave pool in the country.
The Wave Pool is 100 metres long with clear blue water fit for swimming for all age groups. The surging current is fit for various adventurous rides such as roller coasters and rain dancing. You can separately book the tickets for the Water Kingdom on their website.

Things to Do at Essel World
Skating Rink
There is a huge skating arena at the Essel World that covers an area of about 3400 sq. feet. For a hot and humid place like Mumbai, this skating rink is the only place where the temperature goes as low as 4 degrees.
You can rent the skating gear and boots on an hourly basis after making a small deposit. A visit to this amusement park is not included in the main entry pass to the Essel World. This means that you will have to pay an additional entry fee to visit skating rink.
Bowling Alley
The six-lane bowling alley at the Essel World is called the Riki’s Rocking Alley. There is a separate arcade for the Bowling Alley with a restaurant that offers a variety of delicious Indian cuisines.
Essel World Dance Floor
Start grooving at the awesome beats on the dance floor at the Essel World. The glass dance floor is equipped with brilliant lights and high standard music system that will blow your mind. You can book the dance floor for private occasions as well. Once you are here, you can’t stop dancing to the hypnotizing beats of Bollywood, International and Fusion music.
Food
Within the premises of Essel World, you will find many food joints and restaurants that serve a wide range of scrumptious dishes including Punjabi, South Indian, Italian and Chinese. For deserts, do not miss out on ice creams and Chuskis.

Best Time to Visit
Mumbai is known for its torrential rainfall. Therefore, the most suitable time to visit Essel World and the Water Kingdom is during the months of September and June. However, to get the best of water rides, you should travel to this place during summers i.e. between March and June.
Tips for Visiting Essel World
1. Visitors are not permitted to take any food items inside.
2. Carry a appropriate swim gear while visiting the water park.
3. Reach the park early to make the most of both the amusement parks.
How to Reach Essel World?
The Essel World is well-connected by public transport and bus services from different parts of Mumbai and neighbouring areas. If you are travelling from Mumbai then you can take Bus No. 4 from Bhayander Bus depot. It will take you directly to the amusement park.
You can also hire a cab or drive to the place in your private car. You will have to take the Western Express Highway to reach the Essel World. From the highway, take a left turn towards Kashimira and head to Mira-Bhayander Road. From here it will hardly take 45 minutes to reach the park. You can follow the signboards that direct to the park.
There are also various authorized travel agencies that offer regular bus services from Ambernath, CBD Belapur Panvel, Badlapur, Vashi, Kharghar, Nerul, Vashi, and Thane to the amusement parks.
If you opt to travel by train then you will have to progress to Borivali Station or Malad Station by local train. From the railway station, you will have to take BEST bus no 294 and 272 from Borivali Station and Malad Station respectively to reach the nearest bus termination point to the park. Alternatively, you can also hire an auto-rickshaw to reach the bus termination points.
Next, you will have to take a ferry service from the bus termination points. The ferry rides are available on a regular interval of 15 minutes. However, the ferry services stop between 3 pm and 6 pm, therefore, plan your trip to the park accordingly. The fare for the ferry is around INR 50 per individual.
