Main Info
Galgibaga beach is highly scenic. The clear water, silver sand, palm and coconut trees add to the natural charm of the beach. It is among the three Goan beaches that are recognized as the favourable nesting sites for the endangered Olive Ridley turtles. The species is protected by the various efforts and programs conducted by the State. Not only are the turtles provided with various enclosures, the nesting patterns are also studied. The beach being a pristine one, has also gained a reputation for being among the cleanest Indian beaches.
The coast line is stretched up to a kilometer. There is a great variety of vegetation and the topography also varies. The shape of the land changes close to the south where Galgibaga river flows down into the Arabian Sea. The interesting twist in the land with the green hills in the background and the beautiful blue waters of the Arabian Sea in the foreground, presents an eye catching view. If you feel like visiting a pristinely serene Goan beach, Galgibaga beach is among the best options.
The coastline seems to be serpentine. There are boulders. And the sand glimmers beautifully. A leisurely stroll along the coastline is simply delightful.
