An Overview of Grishneshwar Temple at Ellora Caves
Grishneshwar is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Hindus and is a place where one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva is found. The shrine was built in the 18th century and is situated at a distance of about half a kilometre from Ellora Caves and 11 km from Daulatabad region in Aurangabad.
The interiors of the temple is embellished with ancient inscriptions and is one of the most attractive aspects of this shrine. You will be mesmerized by the architecture of the temple which constitutes magnificent carvings of Hindu deities. This religious place is made of bright red rocks and is cubicle in shape. The Grishneshwar Temple is popularly known by several other names such as Grushmeswara, Kusumeswarar, Grishneswara, and Ghushmeswara.
