Gumbaz, Srirangapatna Overview
One of the most visited monuments in Srirangapatna is the Gumbaz. It is a chamber where Tipu Sultan and his parents are buried. The chamber is a magnificent piece of artwork that will totally mesmerize you. The doors of the chamber are beautifully crafted of ivory and huge and spacious corridors will take your breath away. The walls have tiger stripes that are said to be of Mysore’s very own tiger. The monument even has a mosque with a beautiful garden in front.
