Present in the Maidan and Malnad district of Karnataka, Hassan is just 187 km away from the IT city of Bengaluru. The name of the city was derived from the name of the deity, Hassanamba which, in Kannada means “Smiling Mother”. Due to its historical significance and all the architectural wonders, this city is often referred as the Architecture capital of Karnataka.

Hassan is not only the place of rich history and cultural heritage, but you can find many beautiful places here. It has a glorious past with lots of places to visit. One of the important places to visit is the Shettyhalli Church built on the banks of the river Hemavathi in the 18th century and is best known as Shettyhalli submerged Church due to being submerged in water most of the time of the year. You can find the twin temples in Mosale village, which is one of the important architectural wonders of Hoysala architecture. The twin temples, Nageshwara and Channakeshava, was built in the 12th century and there are many such structures and places in Hassan that sings the song of its glorious past.
