The Hayagriva Madhava Temple is dedicated to the Hindu God Lord Vishu. This idol of Lord Vishu resembles the idol of Lord Jagannath in Puri. Thousands of people from India flock to the temple to pay their respects. This temple is also visited by Buddhists because it is believed that Lord Buddha attained Nirvana at this site. Bhutiyas, Buddhists, and Hindus come here to pray and pay respect. The main temple is built at a height. Devotees have to climb a fleet of steps to reach the main temple. Near the temple, is another small temple you can visit. During the month of March, when Holi is celebrated, the festival adds charm to the temple.
