Jhelum River, Anantnag Overview
Jehlum River, in its magnificience, is one of the largest and most western of the five rivers of Punjab and is a tributary of the Chenab River with a total length of almost 450 miles (725 kilometres). It passes through the Jhelum district and originates at the Verinag Spring at Anantnag, at the foor of the Pir Panjal range in the Kashmir Valley.
Jhelum River is on the westernmost side of the five rivers of Punjab and flows through Kashmir Valley before making an entry to Pakistan through a gorge. The set up of Baramulla on the banks of the river makes it so convenient for tourists to add this destination to their dream list of places to visit.
