About Kalpa
Kalpa is a tiny beautiful town in the Lap of Himalayas. Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh is only 240 kilometers away from Kalpa. The town is at 3000 meters altitude from the sea level, situated at the heart of Kinnaur Kailash. The place is chilly cold throughout the year. As far as our eyes can go, only snow can be seen all around the town. The place offers the best scenic beauty to all its visitors. As it is situated near the Satluj River, the clear flowing water adds to its beauty. Numerous hill slopes and waterfalls will cross one’s way to this small town. The beauty of these waterfalls can make anyone spellbound.
Restaurants and Local Food in Kalpa
There are no restaurants or joints on the way to Kalpa. Only small Dhabas can be found offering light snacks. For lunch, dinner, and breakfast, people have to rely on the hotels or resorts they are staying in.
Apart from the foods, alcohol is not served here usually. So people, looking for beer or wine in the hotels or village stores will be disappointed.
One Day Itinerary
Kalpa is the gateway and one of the best itineraries of this region. One can start the day by a long walk amidst the dense forest and raw nature of the area. The most amazing view is the sunrise and sunset view behind the Kinnaur Kailash.
After having breakfast, one can start their journey with a trek to Roghi. They must keep in mind that, the way to Roghi is only open during summers. Then they can proceed to Suicide Point. The next location should be Kamru Fort. After having lunch one can go to Basteri if they want to shop or else one can go to Kothi village. This place is famous for its temples, fruit orchards, and jaw-dropping views. There are so many things to see around this town that people have to skip a few or arrange places according to their preferences. After visiting all the wonderful places, one can wrap up their day with a tasty dinner at the hotel.
