Keerthi Narayan Temple, Talakad Overview
Keerthi Narayan Temple was built by King Vishnuvardhan who belonged to the Hoysala Dynasty. The temple was under heavy dunes of sand until it was excavated in the year 1911. The architecture of this temple represents the finest form of craftsmanship and this can be seen from the intricate detailing in the statues of Ranganathar and Keerthi Narayana.
In the central premise of the temple, you can see the statues of Nammazhwar, Ramanujar, and Vedantha. You will also come across the statue of Yoga Narasimhar in the section of the temple known as ‘ardha mandapan’. The most attractive part of the temple is its 9 feet tall statue of Lord Vishnu in the temple complex.
