Kemmanagundi is one of the hills located among the hill ranges of Baba BudanGiri. These hills consist of the tallest peaks, including the Mullayanagiri peak. Here, the name Kemmanagundi means red soil, which gives your eyes a pleasant view and keeps you in awe every time you visit this place. It was a summer escape for the then Mysore King Krishnaraj Wodeyar IV. After taking a look at this mesmerizing beauty, he decided to give up his resort to the government of Karnataka. Nowadays it’s been looked after by the horticulture department of Karnataka. The hills just tend to take you away from the bound of reality. From the treks to the waterfalls, a lot can be expected from this place. Itinerary
Day 1- Once reaching Kemmanagundi, you can go to the beautiful Hebbe falls. Here this Fall is considered to cure all sorts of skin diseases and hence don’t forget to take up your part and get in for a dip. After splashing around for a while in the water, take a round of the peak of Karnataka, Mullayanagiri. For those who love adventures, there are various trekking opportunities alongside mountain biking. while on the way to Mullayanagiri you can also get inside the Shiva temple. This area also consists of small caves which can be discovered easily.
Day 2- You can definitely go for a trek to Z Point. The Shanti Falls can easily be spotted while you go up the mountain during the trek. The trek might be a bit exhausting as it is steep. However, once you get to the top, it’s all worth it. After having a breath-taking trek, you can visit the Kalhatti Falls, which is just 10 km apart.
