More On Khajjiar
Mini Switzerland
Khajjiar is called mini Switzerland of India because of its natural resemblance to Switzerland. Just like Switzerland, it has green valleys and fields surrounded by Deodar trees and in the middle of the saucer-shaped meadow, a lake is situated. The place is named mini Switzerland by the Head of Chancery and the Vice-counsellor of Switzerland on 7th July in 1992. They even took a stone from Khajjiar and installed it in the collage made of stones around their Parliament as a reminder of this resemblance. A sigh board showing the distance between Khajjiar and Bren (Swiss Capital) is also put by them.
