Tips for Visiting Kihim beach
- Due to rough sea and uneven terrain, the Kihim beach is not suitable for swimming. Do not undertake swimming here as it might prove to be fatal.
- The beach has a well-organised parking space so you need not worry about parking your private vehicle and can enjoy your time at the beach without any worries.
- There are a few rocky patches on the beach which are visible only during the low tide. So, you need to be careful during the high tide as you might trip over them and hurt yourself.
How to Reach Kihim beach?
Alibaug is the nearest city to Kihim beach and is well-connected with bus and ferry services. The beach is accessible by roadways from major cities such as Mumbai and Pune. State bus and private bus services are efficient and provide both A/C and Non- A/C bus services. Once you reach Alibaug bus depot, you can hire an auto-rickshaw to reach Kihim beach, which is situated 12 km away from the city.
Ferry is the most convenient mode of transport to reach Kihim Beach from Mumbai. Ferry services operate on a daily basis from Gateway of India to Mandwa jetty. From here you can avail bus services to Chondi which in turn is arranged by ferry operators. Kihim beach is situated 3 km from Chondi and can be reached via auto-rickshaw.
