There’s no land beyond this cliff. When you reach the top of the cliff at an altitude of 2118 meters, you will witness the immense beauty of nature.
The place gets its name from its shape and location. The cliff has an elevation of almost 90 degrees, which makes it look like literally the end of the land.
The views of high mountains, valleys, and forests surrounding the cliff are to die for. Set across Khurpatal, this final point on the land is a popular trekking destination. Situated just 4km from the main town, Land’s End offers you breathtaking views all around. You can also ride a pony to reach up to the top of the cliff. The place offers excellent opportunities for photographers to click some of the most magnificent pictures of the spot and its surroundings. While at the spot, you also get a chance to observe and admire the terrace farms present here.
How to reach: The Land’s End is just one km away from an area in Nainital called Barapathar. The best way to reach Barapathar is to take a rickshaw or taxi from the Mall Road in Nainital and then trek your way up to the cliff.
Timings: You can visit the place on any day between sunrise and sunset.
Cost: You need not pay anything to visit the site, but you will have to pay for the horse ride. This can cost you somewhere around Rs.700 – 800.
If you are visiting the place, you need to be extra careful because of the steep slope of the cliff. There are no railings or boundaries.
