Library of Tibetan Works and Archives, Dharamshala Overview
It is a pioneering institution in the research and study of Buddhism. The museum houses many manuscripts and artifacts from the 12th Century. Library of Tibetan Works and Archives has almost 600 Buddhist artifacts, 80,000 manuscripts, a 3-D Mandal of the Avalokiteshwara which is carved with beautiful wooden designs and amazingly crafted silk appliqué thangkas. This is considered to be the one amongst the most compassionate and revered Bodhisattvas in Buddhism. An atmosphere of tranquility and composure surrounds this museum. When one visits this museum, they are taken to a different world of calmness and tranquility, far away from their busy hectic life.
