Mahalasa Temple, Kumta Overview
The MahalasaNarayani Temple houses the deity of Shri MahalasaNarayani. In 1565 AD, the Archaks built this temple under the name of Gurav. It stands tall on land owned by the Pai family in Kumta.
The temple’s beauty is shown through the wood carvings and paintings of legendary stories like Mahabharata and Ramayana on the wall. Festivals are celebrated with great valour and excitement along with the Foundation day, which happens in the month of March or April.
