Of them, the Dakhnipat Satra, situated in the Jorhat District, reflects typical Assamese architecture of old times. You willl notice that the gates of the Dakhnipat Satra have images of animals and flowers painted over them. You will find similar paintings within the Dakhinpat Satra as well. Upon reaching Majuli, check into a hotel to take rest. Then head over to Garmur. It is a traditional spiritual site. Then visit Kamalabari Satra. It has religious connotations as well. From there, you can visit Auniati to shop for some exquisite Assamese Jewellery and handicraft products.
The next day, start from Dakhinpat Satra. It is an ancient site. A lot of devotees visit the site every year, especially during Rasotsava, a popular festival here. You can visit Tengapania. The building is located near Brahmaputra river and people come to this place to enjoy a picnic.
