Malvan Marine Sanctuary, Malvan Overview
Malvan Marine Sanctuary was founded in 1987 in order to preserve the rich coastal biodiversity of the state. It is the only marine sanctuary present in the state and the core zone of the same spreads over an area of about 27 sq. km. The region is rich in aquatic life forms including pearl oysters, molluscs, seaweed, corals and about 30 species of fish.
