History of the Neemrana Fort
The Chauhans annexed the city of Neemrana by
defeating the local chief named Nimola Me. Nonetheless, Nimola Me requested the
Chauhans to allow him to name the city as ‘Neemrana’ and in this way the city
got its name.
The fort was constructed in 1464 and it has
served as a capital to the third descendants of Prithviraj Chauhan III, who
were eventually defeated by Mohammad Ghori in 1192 A.D. The daunting Rajputs rulers still managed to
reign over Neemrana until British forces took over the region and converted it
into a princely state. Very soon the fort started crumbling down and in 1947,
Raja Rajinder Singh wanted to sell off the property as soon as possible.

fort began in 1986 and by 1991 the fort was converted into a heritage hotel
with just 15 rooms. It was during the same time, Neemrana Palace was awarded
