The Nehru Park, Guwahati can be found in the middle of Guwahati, which is almost directly face to face with Cotton College in Panbazar, Guwahati. Structured sometime ago in 2000 and named after Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru who is India’s first Prime Minister, the park is the true definition of raw beauty.
The park which is situated at a place in Guwahati where there are several colleges around, was once a church which had numerous cemeteries located in the area. After sometime, the area was claimed by the Assam State government who thought to use it for something else and now, it has risen to be one of the main tourists centre the city has.
Various types of trees, plants, flowers have been planted to give the park a natural beauty, there are also phenomenal sculptures at the park to give it an even better theme.
The environment in Nehru Park is a very beautiful and serene one, the park is gifted with a lovely surrounding and a very calm atmosphere. There are about 45 sculptures made from concrete that show cases numerous styles of dance that are indigenous to Assam State.
The grass in the park are very green and are well maintained, the park is also features a theatre with no roof, some man made ponds, etc. Tourists come to the park a lot because the environment is very beautiful and calm, also, there is option of having a nice picnic.

The park is close to Cotton College which is in Panbazaar, there are several ways you can get to the park.
