149 km from the capital of Ladakh, Leh, Nyoma is a small town in the Leh district of Jammu and Kashmir. It is 370 km from Srinagar. Nyoma witnesses extreme weather conditions at a very high altitude. The temperature is seen to drop down to minus. Carry plenty of warm clothes to shield against the weather. Also, prefer to pack your food packets since you won’t be able to choose from a lot of local options. Get the inner line permit to visit the town. It can readily be obtained by writing a letter to the municipal office of Leh. Carry as many as six copies of the permit as you may need to submit them at various checkpoints.
