Pangot, a small village located at a distance of 15 km from Nainital, is known for its green and dense jungles. These forests are home to a wide variety of bird species. This small village is a paradise for bird lovers. When you walk into the hamlet, you will witness some of the best birds. The entire village is known to house more than 300 species of birds.
Not just Pangot, the entire way to reach the village is as beautiful as it can get. You pass through the dense forest of the Cheena peak range and the snow viewpoint. The area of Kilbury, which is one of the excellent birding sites in the Himalayas, also falls on the way. The thick forests of Pangot consist of trees like oak, rhododendron, and pine. A large number of small streams passing through the region makes it look like a paradise.
Pangot is a calm and quiet village located in the hills. This makes it a perfect destination for people who are looking for some solace. It is also one of the favorite spots for couples.
If you love trekking and hiking, you can trek your way up to the hills and see the snow-capped mountains. There are two trekking trails. One of them leads up to the Naina peak and another one to the Corbett National Park.
