Punnathurkotta Elephant Palace, Guruvayur Overview
Punnathurkotta Elephant Palace is situated at a distance of 3 km from the westward gate of the famous Guruvayoor temple. Interestingly, these were the ruins of Punathur that stand transformed into the magnificent palace with the luxurious and gorgeously beautiful courtyards.
There are 65 elephants gifted by the devotees. The elephants are not made use of anywhere except during the temple ceremonies and processions. Many of these magnificent elephants have a considerable fan-following and thus, they are termed as star elephants.
