Savandurga is one of the largest single rock formations in entire Asia and is located about 60 km away from the city of Bangalore. There are two hills in Savandurga viz. Karigudda (black hill) and Billigudda (white hill) Also, a pond and a temple are situated in the foothill of Savandurga.
At the top of the hill, you can get an amazing view of the Akravati River. The sight is pleasant and scenic and many travelers, trekkers, and campers often visit this place. The hill also has a perennial lotus pond and lush greenery around.

Restaurants and Local Food in Savandurga
While traveling to Savandurga, you need to carry food and sufficient water as there are no restaurants or eateries around that place. However, you can find biscuits and light snacks at stalls nearby. On rare occasions, you can even spot tender coconut sellers and juice vendors. Also, it is recommended to carry energy bars since the trek can become a bit tiring
One Day Itinerary
Once you reach Bangalore, you can check in to your hotel and relax for the night. The next morning you can start early and travel to Savandurga directly via road. Start your journey by trekking the monolithic rocks of Savandurga. When you reach the top, sit there and relax for a while. Enjoy the view while having lunch. It is preferable to cover the downward route before it gets dark. Otherwise, you can spend a night at the top under the blanket of a starry night.
