Overview of Shri Wageshwar Temple in Malvan
Shri Wageshwar Temple situated in Malvan is a beautiful temple devoted to Lord Shiva. As per one of the legends, a sailor came across a Shivalinga while rowing his boat and after a few days the region where the deity was found was elevated with its surface was exposed. Therefore, the locals decided to construct a temple and protect the environment of the region as it is a known natural habitat of tigers. It is believed that the tigers here are not aggressive and do not attack humans and hence, the temple was named as Wageshwar Temple.
