Sri Anjaneya Swamy Temple, Davangere Overview
Shri Anjaneya Swamy Temple is situated in Shamanur village near Davangere and is at a distance of 5km from the city. This temple is dedicated to a Hindu God, Lord Hanuman and it is said to be constructed 800 years ago which is at the time of establishment of Shamanur village.
This temple was reconstructed in 2000 in a Dravidian style which is the most common style across most of the South Indian temples. You can see a large congregation of devotees on Saturday due to the religious significance related to Lord Hanuman. With the combined effort and cooperation of villagers and temple authority, a festival known as Rathothsav is celebrated for three days which is began from the 10th day of Maha Shivaratri.
