Main Info
Suru Basin
Like you’d expect Suru Valley to be, and the many other valleys in the area, it has an exquisite landscape that stretches for miles. The Suru River cuts through the lush green landscape of the area and also marks for one of the major tributaries to River Indus. The Suru area extends from Kargil to Panzella and has been the most immensely cultivated area for its fertility in Ladakh. Some prominent Suru valley spots include Panikhar and Parachik. In these areas, especially the second one, you can witness a bright, bold rusty orange change in the grass against the beautiful mountain ranges. You may find the path to Suru and Zanskar valleys to be a little difficult. However, they both have amazing views to make up for it. Their dirt roads also make these places one of the least visited places in the country.
On most itineraries, trips to these places are last on the list, especially when you’re headed back to Srinagar from Leh. The surreal Suru Valley landscapes are what you see in traveller movies with bikes. The beauty of the place is beyond comprehension.
