Virupaksha Temple, Pattadakal, Pattadakal Overview
Virupaksha Temple was constructed in the 8th century to celebrate the victory of Vikramaditya II over the Pallavas of Kanchi. It is the largest temple in Pattadakal that comprises of several carvings and inscriptions on the walls and stones of the temple. Sculptures of various Hindu Gods are also present inside the temple.
