Rashtrapati Bhavan, Delhi Overview
Formerly known as the Viceroy’s House, Rashtrapati Bhavan is located to the west of the Rajpath Road in the capital city. It is counted under royal attraction places to visit in Delhi. As the name implies, Rashtrapati Bhavan is the place where the current president of the country resides. It is the official residence for Indian Rashtrapati. The place houses 340 rooms including guestrooms, offices, and reception lobby. Rashtrapati Bhavan is spread over 320 acres and features Mughal Gardens, open spaces, stables, and living rooms for staff members and bodyguards. The construction of the Bhavan started in the year 1912. The construction project took almost 17 years. Like other popular monuments in Delhi, Rashtrapati Bhavan is constructed and designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens.
The Bhavan comprises four floors with the floor area covering 19,000 meters square. The place happens to be the largest residential place for the head of state. Currently, the palace is inhabited by the current president of the country ‘Ram Nath Kovind’ who got the post of president in 2017. The authorized visitors are allowed to enter the premises at specific times of the day. The building is divided into three sections, with the first one being the Central lawn and Main Residential palace. Rashtrapati Bhawan Museum is situated on the second circuit, while the last one features Mughal gardens and lush greenery.

Make sure that visitors are allowed to enter the premises on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday only.
